Anti Snoring Pillow Review

Does it really curb snoring?

A snoring pillow like every other snoring solution can help you stop snoring but you need to be sure you do not have a deeper illness.

Snoring is very common amongst both adults and children. Statistics show that 40% of adults snore.

Snoring in itself can be a symptom of a deeper illness like sleep apnea or other breathing problems. Most of us just overlook it as another bad habit but if you snore or have a family member that snores very loudly at night, a doctor should been seen as soon as possible as snoring may be a symptom of a dangerous underlining illness.

These Pillows are designed to help adjust the position of your neck, chin, shoulders, back and head so as to ease the flow of air. Snoring sounds are caused by constrictions in the throat and mouth. It reduces the pressure on your neck and lifts your head up so that you can breathe properly.

Types of Anti Snoring Pillows
They seem to fall into 2 major categories;

  • Pillows that help you to sleep on your back thereby keeping your airways open and
  • The other type of pillow aids you to sleep on your belly or on your side so that your tongue does not fall back into your throat thereby causing you to snore.

Both categories of pillows come in different shapes, sizes and contours. The contoured type is built so that your head can rest comfortably and your neck will be free.
Whichever type of a sleeper you are, side, back or belly sleeper there is a pillow to solve your snoring problem .

Will a Pillow really stop my snoring?
There are many stop snoring solutions but only a few of them really work.
A pillow to stop snoring should be one of the first solutions you should go for.  If you understand that snoring is caused by blockage in the throat and nose, you will understand how effective it can be.

Why? Well, it is not intrusive like snoring surgery or other snoring devices. All it does is to adjust the position of your neck, back, shoulders and head, though I am not saying that the solution to everyone’s problem is a pillow.  Most snorers use them for the following reasons;

  • The fact is that it is simple to use (No parts, wires or batteries).
  • They are also very cheap, mostly below a $100.
  • They are light and can be packed for travelling.
  • They are quite effective.

How to choose a Brand.
The first thing you should look out for is FDA approval.
There is also nothing as good as reading reviews of particular products to know the experience of others and then choose if you should go for that product.

While I was preparing to write this page I took a few weeks to research and find out the best stop snoring pillows in the market.

I discovered that there is a lot of junk out there.

The only pillow that snorers seem to have a good rating for is the Better Sleep side/Stomach Sleeper Pillow sold by AllegroMedical.com
Apart from all of the positive reviews, here are some reasons why I recommend this manufacturers pillow.

  • It doubles as a sleep apnea and anti snoring adjustment pillow.
  • Though designed for side sleepers it is perfect for all sleep positions, side, back or stomach sleeping.
  • It is very cheap. ($99)
  • It fits inside of a standard pillowcase.

I am very hesitant to recommend products to my readers but I have made an exception here because this product is what you need if you want a good pillow for snoring without any regrets.
