Restless Legs Syndrome
The feeling in the legs is most likely to occur during periods of inactivity, such as riding in a car, sitting in a chair for a long period of time, or laying in bed trying to fall asleep. It can prevent one from falling asleep when they would like to, since the sensations in the legs can be severe enough to keep someone awake for hours. Stimulating the legs is one of the most common ways to provide temporary relief, which can be done by walking around, rubbing the legs, or taking a warm shower to increase circulation. Medications can also be prescribed for restless leg syndrome, and usually work like a sleep aid to help the restless leg suffer fall asleep faster without having to worry about their leg sensations. Restless leg syndrome is usually diagnosed through a sleeping questionnaire, and the onset usually occurs in the early twenties to thirties. Restless Legs Syndrome Articles
